After a very successful inaugural year in 2024, West Island Pride is back for another edition this September. Come check out West Island Pride on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Beaconsfield United Church to celebrate our local 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
West Island Pride was launched to create an intentional and public space for a celebration of diversity in the West Island. Born in 2024 out of the collaborative efforts of a number of organizations and entities in the West Island of Montreal, the 2025 edition of West Island Pride expands on the successes of last year’s event while also incorporating some changes to address community requests from 2024. Thank you once again to all the partner organizations, including the West Island LGBTQ2+ Centre, the West Island Community Resource Centre, l’Équipe Entreprise, Overture with the Arts, Projet Nuances, Community Perspective in Mental Health (PCSM), Merging Waters United Church, and West Island Pride’s proud sponsors, PME Mtl and TD Bank Group.
The community is invited to come take part in the West Island Pride community fair, where they can connect with many 2SLGBTQIA+ vendors and organizations doing meaningful work within our community until 5p.m. This year, West Island Pride will welcome over a dozen groups from Montreal and the West Island who work directly with 2SLGBTQIA+ people and other marginalized communities, and many artisans and vendors with a wide range of products, including art, stickers, keychains, apparel, and more! Come to the community fair and stay for the packed main stage with events starting at noon and ending at 7:00 p.m., and will feature several live music acts, a full drag show, a panel discussion, and a lively DJ set to close out the day.
Among the speeches from local leaders, West Island Pride is excited to celebrate a member of our community with the Theo-Roger Community Impact award for their work to advance 2SLGBTQIA+ rights and visibility in our community. The Theo-Roger Community Impact Award is named in honour of the many years of activism and advocacy of local residents Theo Wouters and Roger Thibault, and in honour of their spirit in the face of discrimination, homophobia, and transphobia.
Last year, West Island Pride far exceeded our expectations, and we heard from so many people what this event meant to them. We’re so grateful to be able to bring it back again and to make it bigger and better than before! At a time when there is more and more division in our community, we are appreciative of the chance to work arm-in-arm with so many incredible partners to make this event a success.
West Island Pride will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Beaconsfield United Church, 202 Woodside Road, in Beaconsfield.
